The objective of this course is to introduce the two basic types of investment funds available in Ireland, namely, the Undertakings for Collective Investment in Transferable Securities (UCITS) and the alternative investment funds (AIFs). UCITS have always been a popular investment vehicle with distribution passport ability throughout the E.U. and represent trillions in assets under management. With the introduction of the Alternative Investment Manager Fund Directive (AIFMD), AIFs have also become a viable investment product across Europe. The course introduces you to the fundamentals of Irish investment funds including:
